![]() The Farmers Donkey is about a donkey that has fallen in a well and cannot get out. The framer sees no hope for the donkey and decides to fill up the well with dirt to prevent any other accidents. The donkey notices what the farmer is doing and cries. The farmer is then shocked to not only hear the donkey stop crying but also see the donkey shaking of the dirt and stepping on it. As the farmer throws more dirt into the well the donkey continues to shake off the dirt and step on it until he makes it to the top. When the donkey made it to the top, the donkey stepped up over the edge and trotted off happily. My personal opinion is that the farmer is life and the donkey is you as a person. Life will always try to get you down weather it’s at work, school or even at home, but all you have to do is shake all the negativity off and keep on going. I very much agree with this story’s connection with life itself because it is very true when it connects to my life and the challenges life throws at you. I have had friends that have made my life fairly hard in the past by calling me names and being very rude and disrespectful to me, and now they are no longer my friends. I will use this info to benefit me in the future by walking away or dealing with issues in my life appropriately and reasonably to get through that complex situation. I will change my way of dealing with things when I come to a “bump in the road” by either seeing through that person’s POV or dealing with the decision hands on. This chapter applies to our chapter or workplace because everyone goes through hard times and it’s their choice whether they want to give up or keep trying. Persistence: the property of a continuous and connected period of time/ determination Positivity: a quality or state characterized by certainty or acceptance or affirmation
